PACQUIAO UNANIMOUSLY LOST TO MAYWEATHER BUT STILL WINS THE HEARTS OF MANY

Floyd “Money” Mayweather, Jr. defeated Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao via unanimous decision in their mega-fight in Las Vegas, Nevada on the Saturday morning of May 2 (Sunday, May 3, Philippine time).

Two of the judges scored the fight 116-112, while the other gave it 118-110.

Some boxing critics commented that they did not see the Manny Pacquiao style-fight on the ring. Pacman even admitted that it was not easy to throw a lot of punches because Mayweather kept on moving around.  But in all 12 rounds of their megabuck fight, Pacquiao was able to tag Mayweather with solid punches.

But these solid punches were not enough to convince the judges that Pacman was able to absolutely hurt and rattle Mayweather.

While Mayweather remained unbeaten with the 48th win of his professional career, most boxing fans around the world shared their dismay and sentiments over Facebook and Twitter.

Others coined the anticipated bout of the century as the fight between the Power Puncher Pacman and Power Hugger Mayweather. Sports enthusiasts were displeased of the fight’s result because the crowned best pound for pound best fighter kept dancing around Pacman and literally hugging the Filipino boxing icon to avoid getting punch.

Commentators said that Mayweather fought to his advantage, punching Pacquaio with a one or one-two combination and then literally running away.

Still, it was one hell of a fight that everyone waited for. Will there be a rematch?

No one really knows as of this moment. Mayweather is set to fight this September and he has the liberty to choose whoever he wants to meet on the ring. Pacquiao is off for a vacation and will return to the Philippines to attend to his political activities.
